Atlanta Community Symphony Orchestra

Come Play with Us!

Auditions are ONGOING.

Just because the season has started, doesn’t mean we don’t want you! The Atlanta Community Symphony Orchestra has HIGH PRIORITY needs for percussion, bass clarinet, saxophone, and low strings (yes, violas we want you too!). We are always open to hearing from the rest of you.

If you have been looking for a place to find a family of musicians to share your love for music with, have orchestral experience, and are 18+ years of age, you should consider joining us! If you are an instrumentalist not listed above, you can still apply. We keep a regular roster of extra musicians that we may call upon as subs are needed.

About us.

The ACSO is comprised of skilled amateur musicians performing on a volunteer basis who hold regular full time jobs as teachers, researchers, IT specialists, healthcare workers, and other professionals. We share the common passion and enjoyment of playing challenging orchestral music and being a part of an ensemble that fosters a community around concerts that are brought to the neighborhoods of metro Atlanta free of charge.

Our NEW concert season is a dual concert-cycle season featuring the full ensemble and smaller ensembles featured in our ‘In Your Neighborhood Engagement Series’.  All players have the opportunity to participate in both concerts each concert cycle.

How to Join.

To audition, fill out the application form below and submit audio or video recordings to membership@acsorch.org. The recordings should be two orchestral excerpts of contrasting styles at no more than 2 minutes each. These are used for placement purposes along with a trial participation at one of our rehearsals. Final placement is at the discretion of the music director and/or section representative.
